This past fall, I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Megalomaniac Winery in beautiful wine country, Niagara! This was the first wedding I had photographed since the pandemic, so things were different than anything I had ever seen in my career. The staff was on the ball, ensuring all seating was socially distanced appropriately, and trying to ensure guests weren’t mingling too long.
It’s safe to say I have probably at some point visited or photographed every single winery in the Niagara region, and by far, this view was the most S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. It sits on the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment with breathtaking panoramic views of the lake, Niagara and Toronto.
The nuptials went on, pandemic or not, the ceremony and reception was intimate, it was the PERFECT fall day, warm enough to enjoy a cocktail on the terrace and for guests to comfortably wear sleeveless dresses.
We had arranged a first look with Kristen and Hubert so they could privately see each other before the ceremony and take some photos with the bridal party. This allowed them time after the ceremony to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests.
It was truly a quaint evening with the always awesome Inn on the Twenty catering and organizing the event. I wish these two nothing but love and happiness on their journey as a married couple. If you can plan a wedding in a pandemic, it’s safe to say, the rest is smooth sailing. (See what I did there?) Link to the couple’s nautical engagement here.
